Ezra Collective

The Ezra Collective Quintet proves that they are the true driving force of the London jazz scene. Their music is respectful of classical jazz, combining afrobeat and hip-hop, all of which are spiced up with the specific sound of the English capital. Ezra Collective live concerts are authentic stage performances characterized by great strength and dynamics. After their appearances in May 2016 at London's Boiler Room club, the group began to be described as a "pioneer of a new wave of jazz in the UK". Their debut album this year, "Juan Pablo: The Philosopher", won the Best Jazz Album award at the acclaimed Worldwide Awards. It is a cosmic melange of many styles with a dominant accent of afrobeat, reggae and hip hop. The whole was built on traditional foundations, as evidenced by their version of the famous "Space is the Place" from Sun Ra's repertoire, closing the whole album. Ezra Collective is also the winner of the Jazz FM radio award in the categories "Best UK Jazz Act" and "Live Experience of the Year". The band consists of Femi Koleoso, TJ Koleoso, Joe Armon Jones, Dylan Jones and James Mollison.
