Dope Saint Jude

Dope Saint Jude (real name Catherine Saint Jude Pretorious) from Cape Town stands for feminism, class, race and gender neutrality. She is deeply rooted in the queer subculture of Cape Town. Before she started her music career she was traveling as a drag-king. The music of the rapper, poet, activist and self-styled media innovator is uncompromising and brings with it a playful energy. In 2016 she published the self-produced EP Reimagine. Dope Saint Jude combines elements of British and American rap with South African rhythms and classical music. She now lives in London and has performed all over Europe. In 2018, her second EP Resilient was published.
