Dead Letter Circus
In 2004 in Brisbane, Australia, singer and keyboard player Kim Benzie and bassist Stewart Hill founded Dead Letter Circus. Their music was supposed to reflect their fascination with progressive rock, alternative in the style of Radiohead or Tool, as well as electronic sounds and trip hop in Massive Attack fashion. It took six years for Dead Letter Circus to release its first album. Waiting, however, paid off. This Is the Warning from 2010 reached second place on the Australian list of albums. Subsequent albums did just as well on Antipodes. The music of Dead Letter Circus is on the one hand very well thought out, pampered, not devoid of many tastes, and on the other hand it has a lively character resulting from their creative process based on jamming. The Australians can boast of performances under such renowned and legendary brands as Judas Priest, Linkin Park, Chevelle, Muse, and Animals As Leaders.
