Damian Aleksander

Theatre, television and dubbing actor, director, university lecturer. He graduated with honours from the Academy of Music in Poznan at the Faculty of Vocal and Acting. A graduate of the D. Baduszkowa State Vocal and Acting College at the Musical Theatre in Gdynia and the Higher School of Humanities in Pułtusk at the Faculty of Pedagogy. Finalist of the 19th Review of Actor Songs in Wrocław (1998). In 2000 he made his debut on the stage of the ROMA Musical Theatre in Warsaw, where he played the main roles in such musical hits as Miss Saigon, Grease, Five Moe Brothers, Cats, Les Miserables and The Phantom of the Opera (for the role of Eric he was awarded a triple Platinum Record). Since 2012 he has been working with the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, where in the premiere performance of this institution, the musical Korczak by Ch. Williams, he played the role of Janusz Korczak. There he also appeared in the musicals Pyrup at the Opera, Scream on the Roof, Doctor Zhivago. In 2016-2018 he directed and performed in three productions: the New Year's Eve Galas organised by the OiFP and the Christmas Carol and Pastoral Concert God is Born at the Cathedral Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Łomża (also TV direction). He is the initiator and executor of the musical show Tribute to Musical LIVE (recorded CD). In Musical Theatre in Poznań he played main roles in musicals Jekyll & Hyde, Nine and The Addams Family.

As a soloist he has taken part in nearly 100 concerts, played with Polish philharmonics, under the baton of Zabrze Philharmonic Director S. Chrzanowski. He can be seen in Polish TV series (e.g. Zostać Miss, Kryminalni, Hotel 52, Klan, Barywy szczęścia) as well as in the feature film Toilet out of Order by M. Bilski. He also made the Polish version of the popular science series Test Case together with the Discovery Channel.

Propagator of the American method of training in replacing aggression (ART) in work with difficult youth. Studied psychotherapy according to A. Midell's therapeutic method. Midell's therapeutic method. He was a columnist for the magazines Live and Travel and Lodź U Fly?. Author of Travel Lapidaries, a volume of aphorisms and photographs from his travels around India and Nepal. Together with M. Miśko-Jackowska, he co-created for two seasons on RMF Classic a programme about musical themes Z musicalem pod handem.
