Christoph Israel
Christoh Israel studied piano at the University of the Arts Berlin with Prof. Klaus Hellwig. During his studies, he completed master classes for piano with György Sebök and for song accompaniment with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and Aribert Reimann.
After completing his studies, Christoph Israel worked as a pianist, arranger, composer and producer and worked with Max Raabe, Otto Sander, Dominique Horwitz, Katharina Thalbach, Thomas Quasthoff, Annette Humpe, Philipp Stölzl and Daniel Hope among others. As an arranger and musical director, he worked for a wide variety of stage productions, among others for the Berlin Ensemble, the Berlin State Opera, the Theater am Kurfürstendamm, the Hans Otto Theater, Potsdam, the Tipi am Kanzleramt and the Bar jeder Vernunft. For example, since 2008 he has been the musical director, arranger and pianist of the production Zwei auf einer Bank with Andreja Schneider and Katharina Thalbach at the Bar jeder Vernunft in Berlin.
As arranger and producer, he recently released the second album of the Wintermärchen series at Universal. His work for the film includes the music for the Pepe Danquart's film "Am Limit", together with Dorian Cheah. Most recently he arranged and produced the music for the Udo Jürgens film musical "Ich war noch niemals in New York" under the direction of Philipp Stölzl.
