Cat Stevens, also Yusuf, who was born Steven Demetre Georgiou and has been called Yusuf Islam since 1978, is a British singer and songwriter. He plays guitar and piano and is musically classified as folk and soft rock. His best known publications include Matthew & Son (1966), Lady D'Arbanville, Father and Son (both 1970), Wild World, Moon Shadow and Morning Has Broken (all 1971). In the course of his career, he has sold more than 24.4 million records. Its most successful release is the album Greatest Hits, which has sold around 5.2 million copies.
