Berliner Residenzorchester
The chamber music orchestra consisting of international musicians was founded in 2006. Since then, the versatile orchestra has performed in more than 2,000 concerts in the concert series of the same name alone.
Numerous guest appearances have also taken members of the Berlin Residence Orchestra to international stages and concert halls. Among the venues were Carnegie Hall in New York, La Scala in Milan, the Philharmonic Hall in Chicago and the Moscow Conservatory. In addition, musicians of the Berlin Residence Orchestra have also performed at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Gewandhaus in Düsseldorf and the Konzerthaus in Berlin. On the occasion of its tenth anniversary in 2016, the ensemble performed with great success in the Berlin Cathedral as well as in the Chamber Music Hall of the Philharmonie in Berlin.
The Great Orangery in Charlottenburg Palace is the orchestra's home, an unusual venue for an orchestra, and one with which the ensemble has intensively engaged over the past ten years through numerous site-specific programs from the 17th and 18th century repertoire. The castle's New Grand Piano is another regular venue for the chamber music ensemble.
