Beate and Serge Klarsfeld: The fight against oblivion

In 1968, Beate Klarsfeld slapped Chancellor Kurt Georg Kiesinger in the face to draw attention to his National Socialist past. Ten years later, Serge Klarsfeld published the memorial book for the deported French Jews. For many decades, Beate and Serge Klarsfeld have campaigned to ensure that the crimes of the National Socialists are not forgotten and that the perpetrators are prosecuted.

The exhibition uses numerous previously unpublished documents and individual objects to document the Klarsfelds' fight against oblivion and also explores the personal history of the German-French couple.

An event with Beate and Serge Klarsfeld will take place on 6 December 2022 to accompany the exhibition.
