Bastille

The British band Bastille will play in Warsaw's Torwar on the 19th of February.

Bastille is an English indie-rock band formed in London in 2010. It was a solo project by singer and songwriter Dan Smith, who later decided to form a band. The band consists of four members: Dan Smith, Kyle Simmons, Chris "Woody" Wood and Will Farquarson. The name of the band comes from the Bastila conquest event celebrated on Dan's birthday on July 14. In December 2010, EMI Music announced that it had offered the group a record deal with Virgin Records. Their debut single Overjoyed was released in April 2012. Their second single Bad Blood, which has the same name as their first studio album, followed in August 2012. This single had relatively little success in the UK, usually ranking 90th in the charts. Their third single Flaws ranked in the top 40 and later in the best 21 in the British Isles. In February 2013, before the release of their debut album, the world was introduced to the single Pompeii, which possessed tremendous interest and placed 2nd in the British charts. After releasing their Bad Blood album, the band became even more successful, and they were at the top of all European charts. In 2014, they also received nominations in the categories: Best Band, Best Album, Best Single and Rookie of the Year at the BRIT Awards. Of the four nominations, they won in the category of Rookie of the Year.
