Bastille + support: Alice Merton
Bastille are back with a futuristic new album, and will be visiting Warsaw's COS Torwar on their promotional tour.
After a string of radio hits such as Pompeii and Things We Lost in the Fire, it's time for a new chapter for Bastille. Give Me The Future, Bastille's wildly ambitious new album, is a tribute to the technological age and a glimpse of what might be to come. Oddly enough, songwriter Dan Smith came up with the idea before the pandemic. The album was already underway, and the band took a break from touring for the first time in eight years when the world shut down, forcing them to interact solely through screens. "We were writing songs at a strange time when everyone was stuck at home, glued to their screens," says Dan. On Give Me The Future Bastille goes everywhere, from 1980s New York (Club 57) to a hospital in Australia (No Bad Days). We hear disco, guitars, gospel, spaceship sounds, sensual strings and whistles. German singer Alice Merton, known for her hit No Roots, will perform as support.
