Basel Sinfonietta
Basel Sinfonietta was founded in 1980 by young musicians with a lot of idealism. Then and now the orchestra's goal is to convey contemporary music, the unknown, and well-known works in new contexts to an audience that is open to unusual and experimental sounds. In addition to traditional symphony concerts, the orchestra has produced numerous cross-border productions of jazz, dance and performance as well as various silent film and multimedia projects.
