Anvil
Anvil is a Canadian heavy metal band. It is now considered one of the pioneers of Speed Metal, which originated in the early 1980s. In 1981, Anvil released their debut album Hard 'N' Heavy. At first, the band played more common hard rock, but under the influence of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal it changed fundamentally with the 1982 release of their second album Metal On Metal. The style change was underlined again with the 1983 work Forged In Fire. Further releases of the band are Pound For Pound (1988), Still Going Strong (2002) or Pounding The Pavement (2018).
