Anthony Braxton Standard Quartet

Anthony Braxton is one of the most outstanding creators of contemporary jazz and broadly understood avant-garde music. A great, unruly, controversial intellectual. An outstanding improviser, virtuoso, composer, visionary. In many interviews he emphasizes that he is not a jazz musician, although the enormity of his work makes use of the achievements of jazz and improvisation. He plays in a line-up: Alexander Hawkins (piano), Neil Charles (double bass) and Stephen Davis (drums).
