Anna B Savage is a British musician creating minimalistic and introspective pop music, who debuted in 2015 with the release EP. The release gained general critical acclaim, receiving plaudits from the likes of The New York Times, NPR and Rolling Stone, and tour support slots with Jenny Hval and Father John Misty. Success, however, took the artist by surprise. She felt like an imposter, which stifled her verve and ultimately took a toll on her mental health. Anna B Savage was unsure if she would ever return to music again. At some point, the artist responded to a call from William Doyle (formerly known as East India Youth) inviting her to experiment together, and so the album A Common Turn was born and eventually, after three years of work, released on City Slang.
