Ania Karpowicz
Ania Karpowicz is a flutist. curator and activist. Winner of the 2020 Polityka's Passport Award in the category of Serious Music. In her extensive repertoire, a special place is occupied by works of the 20th and 21st centuries. She collaborates with composers, performing numerous world premieres of works dedicated to her. Since 2013, she has led the Hashtag Ensemble music cooperative she founded, giving concerts but also engaging in improvisation and educational initiatives. The ensemble performs at most new music festivals in Poland. As a soloist, Ania Karpowicz is also involved in promoting the work of women: she appeared as a panellist at the international symposium Musica Femina in Budapest, and at the Sacrum Profanum festival she produced the interdisciplinary online project TOVA raising the issue of female identity today, with music by four young female composers.
