The Wave Cultural Center was established in 2002, which makes it the longest-running facility of its kind in Prešov, and its activities are known throughout Slovakia. During its history, it has held more than two thousand events of various kinds to offer the people of Prešov an alternative to the mainstream culture.

Subsequently, the Wave civic association was established in 2011, which brings together artists and people involved in organizing cultural events at the cultural center. In addition to organizing our own events in the field of music, fine arts, new media, film, entertainment and educational formats, events for children, workshops or lecture evenings dedicated to civic communities, they support cooperation with active associations in the region and Slovakia, which helps their mutual cooperation and contributes to the emergence of other cultural events and festivals.
