Výstavou Joel-Peter Witkin: Rozbitý svět s kurátorem

For more than five decades, Joel-Peter Witkin has been one of the most influential artists who have brought photography to the forefront of the visual arts. His staged images and meticulous work with print materials blur the boundaries between photography and painting, between documentary and scene. A selection from 2010–2025 presents a late synthesis of this approach: a thoughtful intersection of genres that leads to a slowed-down reading of the image as an event, rather than a quick impression. The exhibition Broken World offers an experience of deceleration that restores dignity to the image. It recalls Witkin's exceptional position in the art of recent decades and shows why his work continues to shape the way we think about the body, memory, and the meaning of images.
