Valentin Tszin

Valentin Tszin is a Berlin-based artist and dance researcher hailing from Russia. His dance method combines the fundamental principles of dramatic theater, taekwondo, butoh and throat singing.

Tszin works across a contrasting range of formats, from ascetic solos to intricate group concepts. His projects have been presented internationally to diverse audiences.

Tszin especially focuses on an interdisciplinary dialogue in the arts. Beyond the dance universe, he has been commissioned to produce works for a wide variety of contexts, from architecture to film and from contemporary art to theater and new media. With his unique hybrid approach, he attempts to push boundaries.

Most of his recent works are produced in collaboration with techno musicians, while Valentin Tszin also regularly teaches master classes and explores the process of collective creation with his students.
