Youth Novels

Youth Novels is a Poland-based duo consisting of the lead singer Anna Babrakowska and the guitarist Emil Nowak. Their music oscillates from quasi-acoustic compositions, ambient soundscapes to widely understood alternative music. In 2016 original material was released on their debut EP, titled I Used to Wreck It All. Since its release the band appeared at a number of major festivals: Open'er Festival in Gdynia, Spring Break in Poznań or Songwriter Łódź Festival. They also supported bands like Oh Wonder, Father John Misty, Seafret and Hooverphonic. Their songs appeared in TV series Hold Tight on Netflix and Pod powierzchnią on TVN.

At the beginning of 2021 they released a self-produced single titled What if, mixed by Chris Allen (RY X, Unkle) and mastered by Zino Mikorey (Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm). They have also worked with Sam Thompson (The XX, Ellie Goulding) in Air Studios in London, where they recorded rework of Skin with live string orchestra. They also created the song Hands with Dutch producer and one of the most popular pioneers of trance music, Ferry Corsten. The band turned out to be a perfect fit for his new side-project – FERR. In April 2022 they released the EP Blue, which includes the single The Moon with featured guest Iwona Skwarek, a Polish singer co-responsible for such projects as Rebeka or Shyness!.
