The Shocks
The Shocks are a punk band from Berlin, which was founded in 1995 and dissolved in 2009. Initially under the name Plastix, the band was influenced by classic elements of punk rock and garage punk as well as surf and rock'n'roll. The band became known for their constant live presence, such as on tours through Switzerland, England, Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary or the Netherlands. They also played at festivals such as the Force Attack, Endless Summer Open Air, Back-To-Future Festival, Punk in the Pott or the Fête de la Musique in Berlin.
A 2003 planned tour with The Briefs and The Epoxies to the US was cancelled for the band was not allowed to enter the airport and subsequently had to leave the country. The Shocks processed this experience on their EP Banned From The USA. After a break in the spring of 2009, the band broke up in the same year. In late 2012, a compilation with rare and some previously unreleased songs was released on vinyl.
