Tereza Balonová

Tereza Balonová is a Czech author, singer and guitarist.

She showed her talent to the domestic audience in 2018. Then she shone as a guest on the tour of the band Jelen - alone with only a guitar and a looper, following the example of her favourite Ed Sheeran, she stood in front of a sold-out hall at the Forum Karlín in Prague. Despite being a young adult, she already presented herself as a mature singer.

Since then she has performed hundreds of shows all over the country. She has been invited by bands such as Mirai and Divokej Bill, and has also been approached by David Koller, Ewa Farna and the singer-songwriter Pokáč, with whom she toured. In 2019, she hinted at her potential with the four-song EP Put Out the Day. Her debut album Midnight followed in 2022.

"When my parents took me to a Metallica concert in Eden at the age of eight, it was such a powerful experience for me that I immediately knew what I wanted to do," she recalls. But the performance of the folk band Čechomor had a similarly significant effect on her. "I ran away from my dad and mom and ran into the front row, where I looked under the musicians' feet to see what they were doing. I wanted to be able to do it too," laughs Balonová.
