Summer Scene Vysehrad

This popular Prague summer theater is located in the magical surroundings of Vyšehrad. For over twenty years, it has been hosting highly successful performances of the Metropolitan Summer of Acting Personalities, co-organized by the Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument. Studio DVA theater performances at the Vyšehrad Summer Stage take place from June to August and usually start at 7:30 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.

Admission to the Vyšehrad Summer Stage is always 30 minutes before the start of the performance/concert. The box office at the Summer Stage is always open on the day of the event from 5:30 p.m. until the start of the event. Performances take place even in rain and inclement weather. The stage is covered, and spectators are given raincoats in case of rain. Umbrellas are not allowed during performances. In case of rainy weather, seats are not provided with cushions and blankets are not available for rent.

The amphitheater in the middle of the ramparts has been in operation since the 1990s. It is located in the northernmost and youngest part of the fortifications – the redoubt. It was built between 1849 and 1850. From this fortified location, it was possible to use artillery to shell Podskalí, the Vltava River, and part of New Town in the event of civil unrest. The redoubt was never used for its intended purpose and is now administered by the Vyšehrad National Cultural Monument.
