Some like it Czech: Tři oříšky pro Popelku

Tři oříšky pro Popelku / Václav Vorlíček /Czechoslovakia, East Germany 1973 / 75 min – For December, Some like it Czech is bringing the movie Three wishes for Cinderella (3 oříšky pro Popelku, 1973), the “most beloved Czech Christmas fairytale”. The movie “stole many hearts” throughout Europe and even became an inseparable part of Norwegian Christmas. Don't expect fragile and dollish Cinderella from Disney. Czech “Popelka” is cheeky and brave with a great deal of fire and spirit within her. She won't definitely “sit in a corner”.

Beside the movie, visitors can look forward to a stand-up comedian who will share with them fun facts about Czech Christmas and the movie itself. The screening is part of a screening cycle Some like it Czech, the project that aims to introduce Czech culture to the ex-pat community through movies.
