Seminar of St. Stefan
The seminar known as the Stefaneum for the theologians of the Esztergom diocese was founded in 1566 by the Archbishop of Esztergom, Mikuláš Oláh. It was originally dedicated to the Virgin Mary, so it is sometimes referred to as Mariano-Stephaneum. The seminar was restored in 1630 by Cardinal Pázmaň, but it was dedicated to the first Hungarian king, St. Stefan. Above the entrance portal of this building is a multi-figure relief, while on the north side is the kneeling St. Štefan with a crown and on the south side the kneeling Archbishop Peter Pázmaň - the founder of Trnava University.
