Selig
Rock, Alternatywa/Indie | Selig is a German, Hamburg-based rock band that was already successful in the 1990s. After a ten years long hiatus, the band reunited in 2008. Their reunion album Und Endlich Unendlich was the first of Selig's albums to reach gold status.
The debut album Selig was still influenced by rock with grunge elements and hippie flair. The second album Hier was much darker. At that time Selig called their own style "hippie metal". The music became tougher and less pop, but a little more experimental than on the debut. Together with the texts improvised in the studio, the impression of drug-induced, hard rock emerged. With the last album before the preliminary separation, Blender, Selig left these paths. Rock moved more into the background and instead more pop elements were increasingly incorporated into the sound also by experimented with electronics, loops and beats. Among critics Blender is considered the best work of the band, but the commercial success was missing. The comeback album Und Endlich Unendlich was going back to the older style of the band, as well as the following two albums.
