Sam Alone & The Gravediggers

Sam Alone, aka Poli Correia, is a musician from Quarteira in southern Portugal. The charismatic, heavily tattooed, singer and guitarist has two musical identities – along with The Gravediggers, he plays harsh protest songs with roots in Dylanesque folk from the 60’s on his “Working Class Rifle” battered guitar. However, he established himself on stage in the hardcore group, Devil In Me. Both projects share an interest in ordinary people struggling with everyday problems: emotional, social, existential.

Sam Alone & The Gravediggers aren't fascinated by the world of celebrities, escaping from the worlds surrogate attractions: Without much philosophizing, they sing about those who are not in the spotlight and on the pages of lifestyle magazines. They shake hands with the humble and oppressed people who are fighting every day for their place in the world and are walking the arduous path to a better tomorrow.
