Prague Zoo

Prague Zoo is located at the lower part of Troja district and its first opening was on 28th September 1931. It is a highly modern garden that shows animals in conditions that most closely approximates their natural environment. Prague Zoo is involved in the rescue of many endangered species (the most famous of which is preservation of the Przewalski's horse).

The Prague Zoo gathers more than four thousand of animal species. In recent years the number of visitors is above the 1 million annually. In 2007, the prestigious Forbes Traveler magazine marked Prague as 7th zoo in the world.
