-123minut was a Czech musical group that combined several genres in their music, especially jazz, blues, funk and world music. Its strength lay primarily in its live performances, which were largely made up of improvisation. According to Zdeněk Bina, the band's name was created quite randomly, merely as a play on words, and has no deeper meaning. The popularity of -123 min. was greatly enhanced by winning the 1999 Academy of Popular Music Award in the Discovery of the Year category.
After the band broke up in 2009, the group reunited in 2016 with a slightly changed name, minus123minut. In 2019, they returned to their original band name.
