Mayen
Prague based outfit Mayen came into existence in 2013 as a solo project of Lukas Vydra, songwriter and ex-guitarist of the synthpop band Girls on Drugs (now Deaths). Awareness of the musical public came after the release of his debut EP Wonder Years. After some time, the project grew up into a regular live band. Lukas Klavrza on guitar, Josef Hradilek on bass, and multi-instrumentalist Jachym Krohe joined the band to give Vydra’s songs a new and more dynamic dimension. Since then Mayen have managed to play a lot of concerts in Czech and Slovak, opening for example for Blackbird Blackbird, Blouse or Glass Animals. In the spring 2015, Mayen have released their sophomore EP album Elegy as a digital download on the label Stracastic, which has received a warm reception by fans, critics, and music blogosphere.
