Lydia Benecke
Lydia Benecke is a German criminal psychologist and writer. She had already completed a late night course in psychology during her school years and worked as an intern for a psychological psychotherapist in her extracurricular time after school.
After completing her psychology studies, she co-wrote several books during her collaboration with criminal biologist Mark Benecke between 2009 and 2011. The joint book Aus der Dunkelkammer des Bösen published in 2011, for which Lydia Benecke commissioned a comprehensive psychological profile of the Colombian serial killer Luis Alfredo Garavito Cubillos, achieved high rankings on the Spiegel bestseller list. Since 2010 she has worked as a regular columnist for the German-language BDSM magazine Schlagzeilen.
