Lilipad
Lilipad is a non-profit organization founded in Berlin in 2017. The original goal of the organization was to build a library and donate textbooks to a school in Kyabirwa, Uganda. It soon became clear to the founders that the project could be much bigger than a one-time initiative and that the causes they were pursuing required much more than just book donations.
Many of the children Lilipad met on the ground could not read or write properly. The teachers they worked with showed the organization other ways they could help, such as donating toys to encourage the children to go to school.
Soon Lilipad realized its mission, which was to provide children in vulnerable communities with access to a fulfilling, quality, and stimulating education. To this end, partnerships were formed with local institutions in rural and inner-city areas to provide educational support to their community.
Today, Lilipad works with local institutions in Uganda, Morocco and Germany, using an adaptive methodology to support their community with books and various learning opportunities.
