Northern Comfort / Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurðsson / Germany, Iceland, UK 2023 / 97 min – An overworked businesswoman, a war veteran and an eccentric influencer and her curmudgeonly partner set out to conquer their fear of flying under expert supervision. A short flight was supposed to await the participants at the end of the cutting-edge course, but instead they head to Iceland. A postponed flight, an inexperienced substitute instructor, turbulence and a malfunctioning plane are just the beginning of a journey riddled with mishaps. When the disparate group is finally forced to spend the night in a luxury hotel in the middle of the Icelandic wilderness, it starts to get too hot and the fear of flying becomes the least of their problems. A turbulent comedy, Flying for Beginners reveals the craziest human traits that show up whenever it's least convenient.
