About:united: Hang Aoki + Alice Dee + more

In August 2018 Chemnitz became a symbol of the social shift to the right and showed its various facets: On the street as a public hunt for people and in politics as a trivialization or justification of racist violence. But in many places, people resist: in Donauwörth, Bavaria, a group of refugees is fighting against the repressive reaction of the police to their self-organization in the camp. In Brandenburg, networking and the exchange of knowledge are organised in camps and in residential homes. In Plauen, Saxony, Rom*nja organize themselves against racist fire attacks. In Chemnitz, refugees have organized themselves against the racist mobilizations there and organize protests against deportations. With this year’s «about:united», we want to strengthen these self-organized structures that defend themselves in rural regions against camps, isolation and racist attacks

• against the racist «normality» in all its violent facets - and for a society based on solidarity.
