Klubnacht: Lag + Gerry Read + Deena Abdelwahed + More

Lag, not to confuse with his South African colleague DJ Lag, is a techno DJ and producer from the Serbian city Novi Sad. He explains his fast, grainy sound with the special political conditions with which he and his friends found themselves confronted in the post Yugoslavian country.The authoritarian system would just have made it possible to develop an environment in which, after the political breakdown, one would concentrate on positive values like unity and togetherness. He sees a tendency towards fast, pushing techno grooves from almost all his colleagues from former Yugoslavian countries. Lag has mainly released on the Mord imprint so far, tonight he gives his debut at Berghain.

Gerry Read has been releasing his music on imprints such as Forth Wave, Aus Music and Clone since 2011. His latest EP, It'll Be Over, appeared through DJ Koze's Pampa and the latter contributed several remixes. Why this is an especially successful combination should be clear to those who know Read's wonderfully eccentric disco house tunes.
