Muzyka klasyczna | The Igudesman & Joo duo represents a light-hearted alternative approach to the world of classical music. Their productions combine excerpts from selected musical works with comic elements and references to popular culture. Violinist Aleksey Igudesman and pianist Hyung-ki Joo met during their studies at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England. They have been performing as a duo since 2004, when they created their first joint programme, A Little Nightmare Music, winning such acclaim that the artists immediately took it on tour to many music festivals around Europe and North America. In recent years they have been appearing regularly at music schools all over the world, presenting their programme From 8 to 88 – Musical Education for Children of All Ages. Their joint productions are hailed enthusiastically both by musicians such as Gidon Kremer, Julian Rachlin, and Mischa Maisky, and by outstanding figures from the world of popular culture like Terry Jones and Sir Roger Moore. Attesting to the duo's broad international popularity are the millions of viewings of their performances on YouTube.
