IG Blech

IG Blech Berlin emerged more than 40 years ago from a huge clash of rumbling jazz, trombone choir and student movement. Today it is a strong action orchestra with a dozen of musicians that play on wind and percussion instruments from the clarinet, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, tuba to snare drum and surdo. In demonstrations and concerts, on the street or indoors – IG Blech demonstrates a marching band beyond marching music and folklore, the talent for the Brazilian samba, the earthy African groove, sun-drenched Calypso, to the driving funk, to the merry-melancholic Klezmer music, fiery Macedonian cocek, raging Neapolitan tarantella and rebellious Algerian rai. This band is especially famous for dancing to its own music. In one word: HeavyMessingWorldMusic - presented with loudness, humor and a lot of movement on stage, streets and squares.
