Grebenstein
Grevenstein's solo debut was released in 2014 through Regis' Downwards imprint, before, he was a drummer and guitarist playing in several bands. Electronic music fascinates him because of its endless opportunities, especially regarding complex rhythms. In 2013 he began creating more and more solo productions, and soon these productions reached Regis, who decided to release them.
As Grevenstein he mostly acts as a live artist, not as a DJ in a classical sense. Nevertheless, he uses elements of DJing, which generally have become important for live sets in the scene. Often, he uses recordings of instruments for his tracks, which he later edits. These recordings also play an important role in Grebenstein's live sets.
DJ sets are a tool to explore the full width of the musical spectrum for him, and so he tries to implement everything that inspires him, from ambient to gabber. In his live sets improvisation plays an important role. Before the improvisation, Grebenstein usually has a vision for the musical message of his productions and live shows in mind, though.
