Die Skeptiker
In the fall of 1986, Eugen Balanskat founded a band that was to have a lasting impact on the German punk scene. At the latest with their album Sauerei (published on Rough Trade in 1991), Die Skeptiker earned cult status far beyond the fallen borders of the wild east. Balanskat succeeded in formulating the zeitgeist of the turn of the century and the attitude to life of the streets so authentically that even the successor albums Schwarze Boten and Stahlvogelkrieger became milestones of the German Pogo-Rock. Above all, their rousing stage energy brought the band at least from the mid-nineties nationwide even outside the scene recognition.
