D:uel
Ralf Dörm founded the band Propaganda in 1982. Propaganda was part of the Düsseldorf punk and wave scene with Die Toten Hosen, DAF, Fehlfarben and Die Krupps. In 1983, the formation of Dodor, DJ Andreas Thein and singer Susanne Freytag got completed by percussionist Michael Mertens and Claudia Brücken. Inspired by the success of their song Dr. Marbuse, Propaganda moved to the UK. The singles Duel and P-Machinery, which also were very successful in Europe, appeared in 1985 with the album A Secret Wish. A world tour followed, another album and finally the breakup. After two reunions, Claudia Brücken and Susanne Freytag have been performing the music of Propaganda under the name as D:uel since 2018.
