Bren
Brno band with roots in shoegaze, slowcore and blues. Their debut album Tmou is a melancholic story presented in a dreamy but poignant sonic fog. Music that settles not in the ears, but in the memory.
The Bren project was born from the friendship of Ivo Lorence (Science Killer, ex Beps'n'Johnnies) and Simon Podrazil. Later the duo grew into a full band, supplemented by Vojtěch Škuta and Lukáš Nedomelj.
On their Facebook page, they describe their music as "a mixture of dark and urgent moments", with their sound characterised by an ambiguous, dreamlike obscurity rather than straightforward darkness.
Their debut album, Tmou (2024), was recorded in the Golden Hive studio in Prague under the guidance of producer Michal Amák Št'astný and released on Kabinet Records. On it, the band materialized urgent emotions inspired by fragile interpersonal relationships. In their music, one can hear inspirations from foreign artists such as Slowdive, Jaye Jayle, Swans or Nick Cave, as well as the influence of local Priessnitz.
