Birdy

Birdy is a pseudonym of the British singer and songwriter Jasmine van den Bogaerde. Bogaerde, born May 15, 1996, Birdy is the daughter of concert pianist Sophie Roper-Curzon and writer Rupert Oliver Benjamin van den Bogaerde. She grew up in a mill house on the Pylewell Park estate of Birdy's maternal grandfather, Baron Teynham. Until the age of 16, she attended Priestlands School in Lymington, United Kingdom, before going to Brockenhurst Sixth Form College to complete her A-levels. In 2011, at the age of 14, she released the Bon Iver cover Skinny Love, which reached #17 on the UK Singles Chart.

After winning the U18 category of the Open Mic UK talent competition at the age of 12, Bogaerde was soon offered a publishing deal by Good Soldier Songs Ltd, which is run by Christian Tattersfield, chairman of Warner Music UK.

After a five-year hiatus, the artist returns to the stage in 2022, presenting her album Young Heart.
