Sanah

Sanah is Zuzanna Jurczak, a Polish pop singer. A classically trained violinist and pianist, her chamber music past visibly marks her sound, with restrained pop arrangements and a spirit of traditionalist nostalgia evoking comparisons to Lana Del Rey. Sanah's music, however, has a uniquely Polish approach to it: while the focal point of Lana's look to the past was the idealised American 1950s, Sanah goes even further back, referencing sources like Polish romantic poetry or Edgar Allan Poe. In 2019, she signed with UMG and released her debut EP Ja na imię niewidzialna mam, widely promoted in the media and gaining her national exposure; she has since become one of the bigger names of the more mannered branch of the Polish mainstream. She has released four studio albums since, the latest of which is 2022's Sanah śpiewa poezyje, an LP of songs based on poems by Polish national literary canon classics like Krzysztof Kamil Baczynski and Jan Lechon.
