The formation of the band is officially dated from 1989, but in fact, with some changes in the name (originally Brumer's Prouza) and personnel, the band has existed since 1981. Prouza became widely known in the late nineties, thanks to songs like On the Outside, All Just Like, Here's the Place and Face Backwards.
Prouza has 4 albums to his credit, collaborations on visuals and TV shows with world renowned filmmaker David Ondříček and Czech Television, several rarities, singles, countless appearances on music compilations and hundreds of concerts played. The line-up around bassist Bronislav Svoboda and guitarist Vladimír Frank currently consists of singer Tomáš Gavlas, drummer Alex Buš and guitarist Radovan Typovský.
