Śląska Grupa Bluesowa

Śląska Grupa Bluesowa – the Silesian Blues Group – was founded in 2003 by the surviving members of SIlesian blues institution Bezdomne Psy, which had been active since the 1980s until the death of bassist Jerzy Kawalec in 2003. Its most notable member was the legendary Silesian bluesman Jan "Kyks" Skrzek; since his death in 2015, the group has continued its activities, inviting guests and keeping the musician's memory alive, including organizing an annual All Souls' Day show at Chorzow's Lesniczowka. Musicians performing in the group have collaborated with, among others: SBB, Krzak, Jam, Cree, Kwadrat or performers Jozef Skrzek, Tadeusz Nalepa, Ireneusz Dudek, Ryszard Skibiński, Ryszard Riedel, Zbigniew Holdys, Martyna Jakubowicz and Elzbieta Mielczarek and many others. Śląska Grupa Bluesowa has released six studio albums and has been nominated twice for the Fryderyk Awards.
