Marwan Alsolaiman
Marwan Alsolaiman is from Syria. He came to the Czech Republic in 1982 to study at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University. After graduating in 1989, he went back to Syria, but returned in 1997. Since then he has been living, working and performing in Czechia. His main occupation is teaching physics, Arabic and Czech to foreigners. In 1997 he founded the first ever Arabic music group in Prague with which he still plays. He also performs with a Czech band playing medieval music and organizes children's Arabic workshops. Marwan plays the following original Arabic instruments: lute, canon, Arabic flute, Arabic flat drums and tambourines.
