Group Slade was one of the leading group of glam rock and during its heyday it was the most commercially successful group in the United Kingdom. Commercially successful songs are songs Far Far Away, My Oh My, or song Merry Xmas Everybody (December 1973), which is still one of the most played Christmas songs.
The group was known for its tumultuous live concerts and live communication with the audience (Which one of you is wearing black panties? … And who does not?). The popularity surpassed all his contemporaries glam rock Wizzard, Sweet, T. Rex, Suzi Quatro, Smokie, Gary Glitter and David Bowie.
Creating groups Slade significantly influenced the development of rock music. Despite their attempts to break into the American music market have not been successful, there are many American bands who admit that the formation of the group affected. Cover versions of Cum on Feel the Noize performed by metal band Quiet Riot ranked fifth place U.S. charts in 1983. Also, the group KISS bassist Gene Simmons confirms that stage show was influenced by a group Slade.
