André Rieu is a Dutch violinist, composer, bandleader and record producer. Plays music waltz king Johann Strauss, as well as his father. He started playing the violin at age 5. In 1968-1973 he studied the instrument at the Royal Conservatory in Maastricht and later at the Music Academy in Brussels, which in 1973 successfully completed. After his studies he performed as a violinist with Limburgian Symphony Orchestra and in 1987 he founded his own orchestra fifteen, which gradually expanded to today’s fifty musicians. In his first European tour appeared interested audience of melodies of Johann Strauss and later became famous as the Waltz King.
