Academy of Arts on Hanseatenweg

In addition to its prominent location on Pariser Platz near the Brandenburg Gate, the Academy of Arts (Akademie der Künste or AdK) also operates an exhibition and event space in Berlin's "Hansaviertel" neighbourhood. Built in 1960 by Werner Düttmann, the building on Hanseatenweg was refurbished in 2011 and features expansive foyers, halls, garden courtyards and club spaces. Located at the edge of Berlin's Tiergarten Park, the AdK on Hanseatenweg is an ideal site for artistic productions, exhibitions, stage performances, events, conferences and workshops. The complex has roughly 2,000 square metres of exhibition space as well as a music studio with a stage and seating for 700 guests. It also is home to a number of artist ateliers and apartments.

Over and above their locations at Pariser Platz and Hanseatenweg, the Academy of Arts also operates the archives at Robert-Koch-Platz and on Luisenstraße as well as the Brecht-Weigel Memorial and the Anna-Seghers Memorial.
