Understanding Beuys" is the title of the virtual gallery of the Goethe Institutes in Warsaw and Prague, created in cooperation with the curatorial team of the beuys2021 project, realized by the Berlin-based company XR ZAUBAR.

The expanded concept of Joseph Beuys' art fits in with the cultural activities of the Goethe Institutes around the world and inspired the creation of a virtual exhibition that, in the year of the artist's jubilee, is intended to help understand the questions he posed and the political, social and ecological content of his works. 2021 is the year of Beuys, but a pandemic currently prevents direct access to the artist's works in museums and galleries. Therefore, a virtual tour of the Understanding Beuys gallery enables a direct encounter with his best-known works, such as Social Sculpture [Soziale Plastik] (1969), Sanki [Schlitten] (1969); Das Kapital Raum 1970-1977 (1980), 7000 Oaks [7000 Eichen] (1982), Capri-Batterie (1985).
