Zola Jesus

On December 05, Silent Green Kulturquartier will host a concert by American singer-songwriter Zola Jesus as part of the Sonic Morgue event series. The ambivalence of loss and longing is the central theme running through the work of Nika Roza Danilova aka Zola Jesus. On her new album Arkhon, she has dealt with this tension in an impressive musical way, bringing Sunn O)))-producer Randall Dunn on board. The result is a dark, driving pop album. The collaboration with drummer Matt Chamberlain, who has also played for David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Fiona Apple, has given the songs a new level of groove without losing any of their depth.

Sonic Morgue is a series of events as well as club night in the concrete hall of the Silent Green Kulturquartier in Berlin-Wedding. Christian Morin, who also gains experience as a festival dramaturge at Pop-Kultur, conceived the concert series. Various video installations, performances, art projects and music events are presented at Silent Green.
